DOMAINE DE MENEZ-MEUR
Hanvec - France
The project aims to reveal the site while preserving it. Existing buildings are reused as much as possible, without being altered.
The buildings are densified in the heart of the area in order to create a pole, a centrality, a landmark and a starting point.
The revelation of the site is through its discovery. Educational trails, which start at the heart of the site, allow you to explore the entire site.
The further away from the heart, the more the imprint of man replaces that of the animal, giving way to wilder landscapes.
These routes allow two scales of reading. The first, within the site, to discover the fauna and flora. The second, wider one, links the estate to the wider landscape through educational markers (small wooden huts).
These three huts or “educational markers” provide information according to their themes (landscape and flora, fauna and geology) and mark the entrance to hiking trails. They are the pivotal places between the site and the discovery of its landscape.
Different layers are superimposed to reveal Menez-Meur in its best aspect:
A functional first:
– Finding your way – Walking – Observing
A second theme: – The landscape and the flora – The fauna – The geology
