It all begins along a river, the Creuse. A sleeping beauty that meanders calmly through its valley. Its valley is steep, sometimes rocky, heavily wooded and bordered by forest. It has seen many men and women live on its banks, entertained children and attracted many visitors. Artists too. The “Retrouver la Creuse – Du paysage à sa re-présentation” study proposes to rediscover the river through the pictorial prism of the painters it may have inspired, and thus to enhance the valley’s landscape as a new tourist and cultural destination. The development includes the creation of a large belvedere, as well as the renovation of the reception area and its amenities, a promenade leading to the banks and its pontoon. Forest management will involve a pruning campaign to restore views over the meander, and the installation of a shrub layer to limit the growth of large trees.
